On Friday, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) released its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in 2025. The event was attended by prominent figures including BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, and JD(U) Executive President Sanjay Jha.
The NDA's manifesto outlines ambitious goals, promising to create one crore jobs for the youth, attract investments worth ₹50 lakh crore over the next five years, and establish Global Skilling Centers in every district. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasized that these initiatives aim to provide new directions for employment and industry in the state.
Notably, the NDA has also made significant commitments for women, including the 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme, which aims to empower one crore women financially. Additionally, plans to construct seven new expressways and initiate metro rail services in Patna and four other cities have been included in the manifesto.
The manifesto further states that if the NDA returns to power, education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels will be made free and of high quality. It also promises financial assistance of up to ₹10 lakh to various communities from the extremely backward classes. A high-level committee, chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge, will be formed to assess the social and economic conditions of these communities and provide recommendations for improvement to the government.
It is important to note that the Bihar Assembly elections will take place in two phases, with voting scheduled for November 6 and November 11, followed by counting on November 14. The NDA's manifesto focuses on employment, education, and infrastructure development, while political analysts suggest that caste equations will remain a decisive factor in the electoral landscape.
This election is considered crucial for Bihar, as the NDA promotes development and stability, while the opposition prepares to challenge these claims on grounds of social justice and employment. Overall, this election will test the credibility of promises made in Bihar's political arena.
